KL photos

A little series of montage of my weekend getaway. Shall attempt to do more of that for my other trips!

I heart KL

Choosing to spend my birthday weekend in KL is one of the best decisions I made this year. It is great to hang out with my dear old friend Rinz and her hubby. I have a couple of reflections about life in KL as a tai tai and little observations about this city which I known for so long.

KL is familiar to me as I have a number of friends who grew up here and shared many stories about the city to me. It is a 5 hour coach ride and I have not been here for about 10 years! What a shame I must say.

The food here is really good. If you are into local affordable fare, you can't skip eating in this charming city. I love the old coffee shops and traditional food fare which KL has managed to retain. Unfortunately Spore is swamped with food courts and increasingly less traditional food fare. That is the stark contrast between the 2 cities!

I love the Bangsar area which is similar to the Holland Village in Spore. There are a couple of clothing boutique that sell pretty outfits. I purchased up to 5 items within 2 hours! Haha prices here are higher than the ones in Bangkok but the quality is way better. I definitely gave myself a great bday treat!

I hung out at Zouk yesterday. It's quite interesting to visit the different rooms and understand more about running a club. It is one of those 'behind-the-scene' sessions when people who are in the industry share good insights with you. I will never look at a dj the same way I used to after understanding more about the challenges of mixing good music.

I had my first ever volka jelly! It's 12 percent :) I wasn't down by that jelly shot hence I am pretty happy with it. Really had a good time understanding more about KL :)

More pictures to follow ... Food album and fashion album! Update more when I get back. I will be back again

It birthday for me!

Haven been updating this space for 2 months. I am going through a new phase in life in a non profit organisation and trying to find channels to volunteer in social enterprises. It's been an interesting few months as I am trying to venture in a more concrete path to fulfil my mission in life.

I am also experiencing a life changing moment of turning 30 . It's a new start for me! I think 30 is the new 20 for me. I am definitely clearer and more confident of where I am heading!

Eat pray shoot journey has been rewarding and I am so glad to exercise this option. Many are envious of my journey and they wished they have done it. It is not that difficult to achieve.

I hope I have inspired some people and hope to be even better and inspire even more people.

Let me update you about my plans and my reflections about life. I have yet to update my India trip and it was one of the more memorable trip I had.

Meanwhile signing off in Kuala lumpur.. My dear old friend is hosting me for the weekend as I celebrate my birthday retreat. It is refreshing to spend last hours in my late 20s reflecting about my life in a 5 hour coach journey.

I thank my family and friends for being supportive so far. I am truly blessed to have most of their support. For those who didn't believe in me, I still wish you seek your own definition of happiness. At the end of the day, life is really short and I still believe in making a difference :) there is no time to waste and grumble your way through your life!

Seize the day!

New Product : Card Pockets!!!

I am very excited to share this new layout with all of you! I have received feedback from friends that it would be nice to have a card like thing that can hold the Ang Pow (aka Red Packet) money when you present it to your loved ones.

Yes I hear you. How about a card like texture cash pocket? Each card carries a different theme - Wedding/Birthday/Baby Boy/Baby Girl etc etc.

So instead of choosing an usual card and give an additional red packet to house the money... Use these instead! I think these Card Pockets can fit into Ang Pow Box (the pretty decorated money treasure box) which most wedding couples would put at the registering counter. So fear not ladies & gentlemen. I'm sure there is a design for everyone and honestly, I heart Strawberry Shortcake when I was a little cute girl.  I hope to come up with prettier ones to suit every treasured recipient of yours!

Each pocket can put a total of 5 notes and accommodate $50 SGD dollar note!
p/s: Cash is not included in each purchase!!! :)

Feb Creations - Love is in the Air!

Its a lovely short month. Don't we love Feburary? It is a very short month and things are start to pick up after the festive Chinese New Year! Well well, what can we look out for? Valentine's Day is in the corner and trust me, I know many of us do not fancy it too much..It means you are reminded of your status in various ways. If you are attached, you have to get something nice for your other half. If you are single, you are reminded that you are single in such a week and it can be lonely sometimes.

Fret not! Come by MAAD this coming Friday and you will spend a nice Friday evening with us! Get yourself a nice little card or pick one for your dearest friend or family member! Who says Valentine's Day is only for your 'other half'? Its a day to remind us of love and joy =)

I hope you like my cheerful and joyous collection. I heart the balloons and Teddies. They perk up my mood really well! Have a great week ahead!

Come by this Friday and don't say you are too busy. I'm busier than you as I'm heading to Malacca the very next day (8am bus). Can you beat that ? :)

Teddies and Balloons cards - Suitable for Birthday/Vday/Any other day

You better be nice to your other half! Write a sweet message !

Chase the blues away with this series of blues - Do you fancy cars or flowers? =)

Love is in the air - Peakstarz will be back at MAAD on FEB 10th. :)

MAAD Jan 13th 2012!

It was a rather warm afternoon on Friday the 13th! I was blessed with a dry weather (a good contrast from Dec's event when the weather was threatening to rain!!). I got to my outdoor booth at about 4pm to set up my things up. My great pal PS was there with me, keeping me entertained as I put up my prized pocessions!

This time round I was given 2 cases to put up my materials. I was rather happy with the arragnements as I could put up a case of cards and another case of Peakstarz photos.

Here's some snapshots of my booth!

Showcasing Fabric Photo frame with my lovely Petite card!

My photo prints in different frames

Here's are the rest of my cards!

Ta daa! Here's my final layout of my precious Peakstarz products! Do you like it??? :)
A very big thank you to my friends and acquaintances who came down all the way to visit me. I am also happy to meet new people who asked me about my travel pictures and my handmade cards. I was happy to sell a couple of my CNY series cards. A French man bought 3 of my CNY cards as he finds them pretty exotic!! My new series of lite weight postcards are popular too!

My fancy postcards esp the Wedding & Cutesy series are a hit with the customers.

French customer bought the cards with the little cute red packets!

Pretty collage made by my secondary school classmate, SJ!
She came down to support and i'm really happy to see her again!

That's me, happily collecting money! Thanks to SJ for this candid shot! :)

Purchases made by SJ :)

Hope to meet more new people in the next round and of course, it's always good to have fair weather on a special date with MAAD @ Red Dot Museum! Till next time!!!

P/S: I'm selling my V-day collection through my blog and facebook. Check out the space!!! :)

Dragon Year is here!

Wish everyone a very smooth sailing Dragon Year. Sorry that I have been away for a while. I was helping my family with baking of CNY goodies. Check out some of the pictures here! I must say the cookies didn't taste too bad! Pretty good fun to bake with my Sister.

I went down to Chinatown and took quite a nice series of CNY pictures. I must learn how to deal with photography in a really hot and humid Singapore! :) More pictures will be posted up.

And a belated entry on MAAD on Jan 13th. Watch this space soon!
